WELCOME TO THE DREAMS UNIVERSE

Chapter 01

The channel 8 news filled the quiet bedroom with discussion on the recent opening of the Virginia Anime Academy. "The academy will be located in Richmond and will be open to registrants this Saturday beginning at 10:00 am in the morning. There will be a one time registrant fee of $150 that pays for dorm rooms, books, and classes. We’ll have more on it as more information is given. Now-” The TV abruptly stopped in the middle of the sentence, being cut off by the holder of the remote Terence. He stood up and looked outside of his window beside his TV watching the road. "I wonder what the others are doing. I’m getting bored and I want to know if Jarvis and Erik decided to go to the sign up for the academy.” He grabbed the cell phone lying on top of his Xbox 360 which is upon his cluttered floor. The sound of beeps entered the room as Terence began dialing the number of his friend Jarvis. The phone began ringing for a bit before he finally picked it up.

"Hello?” "Yo what’s up?” Jarvis asked and Terence had answered. "Ain’t nothing.” Terence walked into his dimly lit hallway and into the living room of his house. "Did you see the news just a few minutes ago?” "Talking about the academy?” "Yep that’s the one.” Terence said while nodding. "Yeah, you still thinking about going to it?” Terence face became stern. "Yeah, I took back most of my games and my PS2 to pay for the cost  which I’ve got now. The final thing is convincing my mom to let me go.” "Word. I got to try to get the money myself. Markus said he had it already and will be there the day it start. Since everybody going I’ll probably try to go myself.” "Cool, it’ll be great to go in with a party then to try to make friends on the way.” Terence began looking outside the living room window. "Well hit me up if you find out you can go or not.” "Alright I’ll let you know.” "Alright”. He looked at his phone which blinked "Call ended” and showed the total time of the call. He sighed sitting in a brown lazy boy chair in front of the window. "I’ve got two things to do now. Got to make sure the cost is truly $150 and whether or not they do transportation and…I’ve got to try to convince my mother to let me basically live on campus.” He looked up towards the ceiling and smiled, thinking of some arguments.

He stepped into the dining room and sat down upon a circular table colored with a darkish green hue and began calling the academy finding it’s number in the yellow pages. "You have reached, Virginian Academy how may I help you?” "Oh…um I was wondering what the registrant fee was. Is it actually $150 for everything?” "Yes sir, there is a one time fee that you only have to pay of $150 if you pass the registration tests.” Terence began to look confused. "Tests? What tests?” "With the registration fee comes an appliance test to see just how far you’ve developed. If it’s passed only the one fifty applies and you’re well on your way. Failing however will make you pay additional $1000 dollars for developmental classes. This school is really for those who have a general idea of how to use their abilities.” Terence began to think for a minute. As far as he knew that test could be anything. "Is that all sir?” The operator breaks up the awkward silence. "Oh yes thank you.” "You’re welcome sir” Just like that his phone was back to the call ended screen. "How am I supposed to tell my mom about that…if I fail it’s pretty much no longer an option to go there.” Just as he looked up his mom was coming into the dining room to throw something away. "It’s now…or never…”

"Mom…” Terence called out to her in a low voice. "Hmm?” He took a deep breath and began to explain his goals to her. "I’ve scrunched up $150 to attend that new academy that’s been all over the news. One of them opened up in our state.” He can see exactly what she is going to see judging from her facial expressions which went from normal to a little angry. "I’m asking you to let me go to the school, it’s a one time fee that pays for everything.” He neglected to tell her the $1000 part. That’ll just make it harder to argue. "Where is the academy at?” "Richmond” Her face got a little more angry. "Look I already know what you’re going to say but you know, it’s something I want to do. It’s not like I’ll be there forever or anything. And my friends are going so I’m not alone.” She continued to look at him as to seem like she is deciding on whether or not to say no but she is going to say no. "I’ve got to be able to try some things on my own, if I don’t how will I ever be able to learn anything. This is an opportunity, think of it like an academic trip. Besides it’s not all going to be fun, I still have to do college level work.” "I’m not answering this now, I’ll think about and let you know. When is the registration?” "This Saturday.” She breathed heavily and walked away back into her room. Terence stood there and watched thinking to himself. "Well…I think that went…well I guess?”. He scratched his head and sighed.
