WELCOME TO THE DREAMS UNIVERSE

Chapter 02

Markus’ phone rang while he lay asleep in his bed with the TV on in the background for noise. He set up reaching for his phone grabbing it on the floor to the left side of his bed beside his computer. He looked at the caller which read "Dom” and began to shake of some grogginess before answering it. "Hello?”. A voice came from the other end of the phone. "Hello?”. Markus looked at the TV for a bit before answering, the channel turned to the news which is still talking about the preliminary tests in two days. "Yo?” He said as if to ask what do you want. "You still going to the academy?” "Yeah why?” "You know what the test is right?”. As much as Markus had the television set on the news that has been covering the story for so long he had not one time actually listened to the news. "Naw what the test supposed to be?”. "On the news they said something about we supposed to fight someone the council of the school be choosing.” Markus thought about it for a minute before answering. "Hold on what?”. "Yeah, that’s what they just said on the news.” "Hold on a minute.” Markus laid the phone down on his bed and turned the TV up for a bit to actually hear what the anchorwoman was talking about. "It was recently released from the council to the public that they will hold preliminary tests to determine if those who have entered are fully prepared to give their all in the name of learning how to use their Ki. We have a statement from one of the councilman now.” An bold face older looking man wearing what is believed to be the school colors of a grey robe came on the screen. "We only accept those who are worthy. Many people think the one hundred dollars we ask for will be an easy way into the school. Do you wish to know why we can afford to do this. It is because those who fail require to pay us one-thousand dollars in order to get into the introductory classes.” The television suddenly cut off after Markus hears this. He picks up the phone and places it back to his ear. "Hello?” "Hello?” "I’m  done” Markus said suddenly. "Okay why?” Dominic can be heard laughing on the other end. "I’m bout to not try and fail this fight. The council picks the person you gotta fight? They probably going to pick some big ass buff dude.” Dominic is still laughing. "I think you can choose too though. If you call someone out or they call you out. That’s what I read on their website.” "For real? Give me the link so I can see it myself.” "Virginianacademy.gov” Dominic said. "Aight word, bout to check it out. I call you back.” "Aight” Markus cut the phone off and picked his laptop up. "That better be right…not trying to pay a thousand dollars. If it ain’t…”

"TJ!” Terence was called into his room by his mother while he was sitting in his room while on his laptop. He got up from his broken leg chair which fell over as he did and went into the room just next to his. His mother was sitting on her bed basically motioning him for a talk. Terence came in and sighed to himself. "Seriously wonder what she has on her mind…”. There was a brief silence for a bit before his mother broke it by speaking. "What do you get for the one hundred from there? How much research did you do?” Terence took another sigh. "Basically for the one hundred dollars, you get to go to the school, pays for their campus, books, and class fees too. Think of it like a mix between college and high school. And also since it’s run by the Japanese, the school is going to be the best there is academically.” Saying that seemed to get his mother’s consent a bit better as her face wasn’t so stern anymore. "That’s all? That sounds shady.” She threw in a trick question to him. Terence shook his head. "Can’t be shady. The only think is you have to go there to take a test and that’s it. The test at least from what I know is an easy miniature quiz.” He again neglected to tell her that it’s a fight and that if you fail you have to pay one thousand dollars. "Are you sure?” Terence’s mother asked him looking dead into his eyes. He began thinking to himself. "Oh no…it’s the dead eye stare. She’s trying to tell if I’m lying or not…have…to remain…strong!”. Terence thought about the Batman face and tried to imitate as best as he could without busting out laughing or giggling. "Gotta…persevere…”. The stare went on for at least a full minute and thirty seconds before she finally said something. "Okay.” Terence sighed and looked up at her? "What…really? You serious!” His mother nodded. Terence did the yes pose in his mind before regaining composure. "Thanks mom! You won’t regret this!” He went tried to go back into his room but before he could his mom asked him. "When is the test?” He turned around and answered, "This Saturday starting at 10 am in Richmond.” She looked surprised. "Richmond?” Terence smiled again, "If I pass you don’t have to worry about me coming back”. With that he closed his door when his mother face changed and got in his chair and called Jarvis. The phone rung a bit before he answered. "Hello?” "Hey got news…”. "What’s up?” Jarvis said. "I’m all good to go.”
