Chapter 09
"Bastard” Erik laughed to himself watching Jarvis slow walk his way back into the hallway. "I know.” Jarvis said laughing also getting up to Erik and doing the general ‘bro’ handshake with him. "I didn’t even know you where here cuz” Jarvis said to Erik. "Yep, got in at the last minute. Fought some…bum ass dude, clearly passed the test.” He looked at everyone again this time seriously. "You looking beat the hell up over there TJ”. Erik said to him. Terence still in thought and keeping to himself looked at him. "Yeah well you should see Dom.” He shifted the attention off of himself perfectly. "Oh he’s here? Where is he at?” Everyone scratched their heads except for Hikaru. "Oh he’s sleeping!” She said with enthusiasm. Jarvis was shocked she said it and Markus started laughing. It even snapped Terence out of his deep thought. "Whose this?” Erik asked casually. "Hikaru Katsumi” She giggled blushing a bit. "Friend? Acquaintances? Or you just here to look good?” She blushed a bit harder, "Oh…uhh…a little bit of it all actually.” She started to become visibly nervous, something none of the other three had seen. Jarvis leaned over to Markus and whispered to him, "Look at him, he think he better than me. He ain’t no Mack”. "Hey, how about you stop hating…of the pathological playboy!” Erik started laughing and Jarvis chuckled a bit. "Damn it he heard me!” The nurses office door opened up again and out came Lianna, Shizuka, and Dominic, who has a full rib bandage on plus gauze pads on his face. "What the fuck?” Erik said noticing Dominic. "Who messed you up?” Lianna looked away again while everyone pointed to her. Erik shook his head, "You know what, don’t even want to know.” Lianna sighed and looked at him. "Thank you, I didn’t want to have to explain again…”
"Everyone should be okay with some rest.” Shizuka said coming through between Dominic and Lianna, her chest bouncing with each step. "I think after this is a normal school day…or some I’m told. Umm…I’m new here…and didn’t read the memos.” She began to fumble around herself looking for the papers they had given her. "Oh no worries, we’ll all learn together.” Markus said to Shizuka. She smiled at him who smiled directly back at her. Erik whispered to him, "Step it up bro”. Markus looked at him, "What?” he said out loud but was ignored. "Before you all go, the results came up on the monitors of all who passed. They should all be in major hallways of school buildings, so just go too the main hall of east wing building. Hikaru can show you.” Lianna said. "I have to go for now though so I cannot go with you all, I do hope you all pass the tests. Perhaps we can get along even better when we’re attending the school normally.” She bowed to everyone and walked off quickly while everyone watched her. "Lianna…” Hikaru whispered. Erik walked beside her, "Something wrong?” She looked at him and quickly looked back down. "It’s just Lianna…she’s…following protocol again that’s all.” Erik scratched his chin, "Word, so that’s why she’s-” Markus cut him off quickly, "Being a stuck up asshole?” Erik shook his head, "That’s being rough. I was gonna say uptight.” Markus shook his head to Erik, "I WAS being mild” Dominic uttered his first word since coming out of the nurse office. "We going to see our grades?” he asked. "Yeah we should go over there. You aight? You can walk?” Jarvis asked. "Cause you looked fucked up” Markus added on. "Yeah I’m good.” Dominic responded a little weak, wobbling a bit when he started to walk.
"I would go with you all but I have more I have to tend to here.” Shizuka said. "Will you come back and let me know how you all did?” She asked. "Yes” Markus answered quickly. "Yeah we’ll be back” Jarvis added on and everyone else nodded. "Great! Please see me as soon as you can!” She bowed to everyone and walked back into the office shutting the door. "I’m coming here every time I get a scratch” Markus said while Erik and Jarvis laughed. "T?” Jarvis called to Terence. He looked up again, "We’re leaving?” Everyone nodded in the room. "Come on Terry, you’ve been quiet all day since you got out from falling out? What’s on your mind? Tohsaka Rin isn’t that scary.” Terence made a scowl at her. "It’s not about her.” He responded unconvincingly. "It’s okay!” Hikaru smiled returned. "We’ll talk before you have to go see her, so you’ll know what to expect ‘kay?” Terence looked to the side but nodded confirming it. Jarvis looked at Hikaru, "How’d you know that was his problem? That was an assumption right?” Hikaru shook her head, "No way. Shy types like him? Easy to read” She laughed as they all began to walk toward the main hall with her leading. Erik was beside her with Jarvis and Markus in the middle and Terence and Dominic bringing up the rear. Along the way they passed some of the classrooms and trophies the school has specifically one, Hikaru explaining them all to them. While she comes off as the ditzy type, she is surprisingly knowledgeable about the school and knows plenty of it’s offerings.
They got to the main hall of the East wing which is a large cylindrical room with many glass windows and painting surrounding it. The floor and room in general appear to be made of marble with the front desk made of fine well polished wood. There were three tellers behind the desk, all appearing to be blond blue eyed twins and behind them was a statue of this schools builder and founder. But that wasn’t the impressive part. Behind and beyond this statue was twin glass elevators that spanned what appeared to be at least 6 floors. "How many floors does this academy have?” Terence asked speaking up for the first time since they began walking. "Hmm…I think about 8 for each wing.” Everyone’s mouth opened wide opened. "Eight?” Got damn.” Markus said. "Oh my goodness why so many?” Dominic asked. "Well one is for council members, and the top is the roof. So it’s really 6. But on the elevator seven buttons work. You need a keycard for floor seven.” "That’s the council room right?” Jarvis asked. "That’s right!” She said to him. The hallway bustled with a lot of activity everyone looking at this huge electronic board that posts everyone grades up on it. There are two grades to be witnessed, the examiner’s grade and what the council grades you. These grades are then overseen by a overall, the overall being the grade that determines whether you pass or fail. Above the grades are flashing giant bold letters that say "IF YOU ARE BELOW 60 GO TO THE MAIN OFFICE IN THE NORTH WING IMMEDIATELY!”
"Can you guys see from here?” Hikaru asked everyone. Terence shook his head immediately. "I’m blind as hell so…”. Erik moved back and forth trying to see over people. "Can’t see over these idiots. Most of them know they failed so I don’t know why they trying…if this chick moves her hair…”. Dominic couldn’t exert himself as much so he sat back and Jarvis and Markus had to do most of the sighting. "Why don’t they have text messages” Markus asked looking for names. "I asked them that too and they told me they wanted things traditional Hikaru said.” Erik shrugged off the statement finally able to see. "So I guess that’s why they chose to use a big ass electronic board huh?” Jarvis spotted his name on the board at the beginning. "Yes!” He yelled out loud. "Kallen gave me a A, council gave me a B, I got a B overall let’s go”. He began fist pumping getting some of the crowd attention while exclaiming, "Woo woo woo! And you know it!” Markus spotted his name looked at Hikaru, "You gave me an A? Why didn’t I get an S?” Hikaru laughed but Markus had a serious face even though he was kidding. "They don’t do S’s. I would have given you one though if I could” She smiled at him. "Council gave me an…U? What the hell is a U?” Markus asked Hikaru. "Remember when I told you you’ll just have to prove you can use Ki? A "U” means undecided. You basically passed, all you have to do is make a visible ki attack. Even if it’s just you discharging it like your friend did when he showed up?” Markus looked at Erik. "I’m about to do what you did when they call me in.” He said to him. "It’s an automatic A basically” Erik said. "T, that girl you went against gave you a A, council gave you a A too.” Jarvis said to Terence. He tried to look serious but started smiling at the thought he passed. "You know want too” Jarvis egged him on. Terence shook his head but eventually gave in, "Woo! Woo! Woo!” Terence yelled out surprising some of the crowd also. "And you know it!” Jarvis added in and the two began to fist pump simultaneously. "Yep just spotted my name.” Erik said. "All ‘A’s, the council knew what they wanted and got what they got. It’s not a show without Blackbird” Erik said smiling. "What I get?” Dominic asked everyone who all began searching for his name. "Oh you failed” Markus said. "What?” Dominic got a little riled up. "Man chill out man I’m playing. You got a B from your examiner but a D from the council. Your overall is a D. You made it man…right?” Markus asked as if to make sure. "Yeah, below 60 is an F, it’s using the college 10 point scale.” Dominic sighed and Markus looked at him. "Boy you is lucky as hell, you better thank Jesus for Lianna.” He said to him. Dominic laughed, "I know right?” This being one of the rare times Markus was actually serious though.
"Congratulations guys!” Hikaru said clapping for them. "All’s that’s left now is waiting until 6 for the speech and then room assignments. It’s going to be so cool!” She stopped after hearing a stomach growl. "Somebody hungry.” Dominic said while most people looked at Terence. "That…always happens to me…” he said. "It’s okay Terry! Come on you guys! Let’s go to the cafeteria and wait there!”
