WELCOME TO THE DREAMS UNIVERSE

Chapter 10

"Hikaru leads the group into the East Wing’s cafeteria, which is down a few hallways to the right of the main room they were in to learn their grades from the electronic bulletin board. With an hour passed, they now have five hours to waste until the school’s inductee speech and the assigning of rooms for the day.”

The group all entered a full cafeteria room, which looked similar to a restaurants room. The middle of the room was lined with tables with cloth on them, four chairs to one table while the closer one got to the walls and corners of the room, it was replaced by booths. Hikaru lead the group to the booths in the upper right corner from where they entered the room which was from the left side. Hikaru sat inside the booth with Erik beside her and Jarvis and Markus pulling up chairs to sit at the outside corner. Terence and Dominic sat in on the other side of the booth across from Erik and Hikaru. There were normal things on the table of the cafeteria. Items like salt, pepper, ketchup, and sugar. Something odd from most restaurants though was that there was always menu’s on the table. Everyone looked at them and then at Hikaru who saw how surprised everyone looked about it. "So this place has waiters?” Jarvis asked her. Hikaru shook her head "No, it may look that way. You actually just…” Hikaru turned her attention to a call button on the side of the wall where she was sitting at and pressed it. When she did, the odd looking center of the table split apart and opened up revealing an electronic touchpad which blinked the words "May I have your order?”. Everyone mouth opened wide opened when they saw this. "That is…freaking awesome!” Jarvis said. Hikaru started smiling, "Yeah they use touch pads all over the school. From what I understand, the classrooms are like this too” No one heard what she said they were all too busy touching items on the touchpad. "Everything is in yen…” Terence said. "Didn’t they say that the academies were built after the Japanese school systems? I wouldn’t be surprised they did used the currencies here.” Erik said. "Yeah but we have US money so…how we supposed to figure it out? Use our phone converters?” Markus added in. "It’s yen by default.” Hikaru said. "In the top right it should be a button for US currency.” Erik looked a bit and saw the small button in the top right like said. "I’m done” he said out loud. "Why is that jaint so small. Nobody is going to notice that.” Everyone began to look at the menu again since the touchpad outright refused to tell you anything besides let you tell it what you want.

"You guys getting something? It’s on me” Hikaru said. "Word?” Markus said. "I’m about to order some high as hell.” he added on. Hikaru face became a bit nervous, "H-hey nothing too high. I’ve only got about $30 on me.” Markus laughed at her, "I was just playing I’m not going to do you like that.” She smiled after hearing that and felt her heartbeat return to normal. "I’m not all that hungry.” Jarvis said. "Me neither” Terence said right after. "I’ll just get some tea.” Erik said touching the drinks section and going to iced tea which turned out only to be $1. "They don’t got nothing I want” Dominic said. "It’s not really the first day so they’re probably only going to sell bare minimal. I’m seeing nothing but soups and classic ramen on it right now myself.” Hikaru said. "So I’m only getting Erik’s tea? I think I’ll just get some fruit punch myself.” She began pushing in the buttons to order it which came out to $1.50. After the order she pressed the "Complete” button and took out $2.50 exactly and put it into the bulging machine touchpad. The left side contained a bills slot, and the right side of it contained the coins slot. After the process it blinked "Transaction Complete, order will be delivered soon” showing their table number and returning back into the odd center piece again. Everyone still couldn’t believe how crazy that was. "How much did it take to build all this?” Hikaru shrugged. "Only the council will probably really know.” She said. "Or the founders and some teachers” a voice said beside them. They all looked over and saw Rin, Kallen, and Hawk finishing walking over to them. "Hey what are you guys doing here?” Hikaru asked. "I was looking to congratulate everyone” Hawk said. "Figured I should probably save one of the biggest groups that came in together for last.” "I’m passing through but figured I’d stay around with you all until the inductee speech is given.” Rin said. "Likewise” Kallen said. A cafeteria worker came over and dropped off a iced tea and a fruit punch on a tray, bowed and then walked off. Jarvis slid the tea and fruit punch over to Erik and Hikaru respectively who then got straws from the tray on the table near the condiments.

"Having an easy time adapting?” Rin asked Terence looking directly at him. He looked up to her and nodded. She frowned a bit and folded her arms. "You’re not very talkative are you? That’s good, perhaps I can just get to the point with you. Hopefully you’re a pretty quick learner too.” Terence thought to himself for a bit. "I like to think of myself like that.” he said lightly. "Well either way, when tomorrow rolls around, we’ll be spending time after school. I’m going to teach you a special way to use your ki.” She said and he just nodded again. "What about us?” Erik said to her. She looked at him, sighed and then closed her eyes. "I’m not a charity case. I’m not going to teach all of you!” Erik tilted his head to the side. "You’re not a tutor then?” She glared at him when he said that. "No! I am not a tutor. I already explained my reason for choosing Terence. If you want someone to teach you ask Hawk.” She said. Hawk simply shook his head. "I don’t have time to take on students. I have to make sure I’m fit for everyone since I’m usually the targeted one of the whole school.” He said. "So everybody be wanting to fight you?” Dominic asked. Hawk nodded while beating his chest lightly. Dominic began to think about something after he said that. "So you guys excited? How do you like the school so far?” Kallen said pulling up a chair sitting beside Jarvis who was looking at her the entire time. "Awesome” Markus said. "It’s the best school ever. Seriously” Jarvis said still looking at her. "That’s good. Have some enthusiasm. It’s going to start to get really rough around here.” She said. "Oh you read the memos?” Hikaru said. Kallen nodded. "Hold up? What memos?” Jarvis asked Kallen specifically. "You guys wouldn’t known about it. Though me and Hikaru are freshman too along with Tohsaka, we all participated with the council. We were ahead on the loop before a lot of people are.” She said. "So y’all know what the school is going to be like already?” Markus asked. "In a sense…yes.” Rin said. "When you participate with the council, either you’re trying out to be a leader, you’re strong enough to represent the school, or you’re handpicked. That’s Kallen and Tohsaka’s case here. When you are picked or just participate in general, you’re given the conduct of the school early.” Hawk said. "And thus we have an idea how a day would go here.” Kallen said.

"We would tell you” Rin said, "But I don’t think they’d want the information out early”. Kallen smiled at Rin, "We should tell them. Don’t you want your little protégé to be on the up and up.” Kallen said teasing her. "He’s not my protégé! The way he almost beat me using his ki was an insult. I’m just going to be turning him into a better fighter. Nothing more!” She said a little angry at Kallen. "Someone should just say what a day would be like. I already heard that tomorrow is a school day.” Markus said. "You’d be correct” Hawk said. "Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays are school days.” "What?!” Markus said out loud while everyone else looked on with their mouths open. "We have to go to school on Saturdays?” Hikaru, Kallen, Hawk, and Rin all nodded. Markus placed his hand on his forehead while most everyone else began to look disappointed. "This is common in Japanese schools? You’re all American right? I can imagine this comes as a surprise.” Kallen said. "Yeah we don’t exactly go to school on weekdays” Jarvis said. "Yeah man, that’s sleep days” Markus said. "We gotta go to school on Sunday?” Dominic asked. Rin nodded but held up a hand. "It’s your choice though. Sundays are usually training days since all of the schools training centers and sparring arenas are open. The library are open too for those who wish to do academics.” Hikaru grinned. "Isn’t that where you’ll be Rin?” She asked happily. "On certain Sundays yes” She said casually. "Should I follow you in the library?” Terence asked her. "That’s entirely up to you. I’m not going to help you with your academics that much unless we’re in the same class. Then we could just study together. I’ll let you know ahead of time whether or not I’m going to be teaching you and studying.” Terence nodded after hearing that. "I ain’t never going in the library. I could pass all of my tests without studying” Dominic said. "Hmm confidence.” Hawk said. "I like that. So you will be training I presume?” Hawk asked. "Yup, I want my rematch with Lianna.” Dominic said. "I would too after she bashed your face in” Markus said making Dominic go quiet a bit. Kallen looked at her watch and stood up. "Well it’s about that time guys. We should head to the auditorium in the Main hall.” "What time is it?” Jarvis asked looking up at her as she got up. "It’s 5:34 right now.” She responded to him. "Damn time flew” Jarvis said looking out the window like everyone else. It still looked like mid afternoon but only because it was daylight saving time. "We should all just go together as a group” Hawk said. "Cool idea, maybe we’ll meet Lianna there and we can join her!” Hikaru said excited. With everyone up, the group moved on together to the auditorium for the inductee speech, getting very close to starting the dreams of most men.
