Chapter 12
The school song ended and the entire auditorium erupted in thunderous cheering and clapping along with Hawk chants. After the chants ended everyone began to talk amongst themselves wondering what dorm room they were going to get and who was going to be their room mates. "Well, here is where I must leave.” Rin said to the whole group, everyone turning to her. "I’m checking my dorm room the old fashioned way.” she continued on. "You’re in the private dorms right?” Hikaru asked. Rin nodded to her walking off towards the stage area, presumably to talk with the council. "She’s always so mysterious” Hikaru said. "Yes, but I’m sure she’ll have her reasons for this. Maybe she is being serious about her school year.” Lianna added on. "Well either way I’m ready for my room” Markus said. "Did they say wait times during the speech…wasn’t really paying attention.” Erik said. No one answered for a bit and silence broke out in the group. "They didn’t” Kallen said breaking the silence. "Judging from how hi-tech the school is though, I’d say it’s automated. Might not be that long before the rooms are emailed and text.” Dominic took his phone out and kept it out, getting on the internet until the text returned him to the screen. "What are the dorms like?” Terence asked. Hikaru, Lianna, and Kallen shrugged. "They’re like pretty much apartments.” Someone behind them stated. Terence, Erik, Dominic, Jarvis, and Markus peered over the girls while they simply just turned around. "Oh didn’t mean to eavesdrop. My names Grant, I was in the same exam station as…I believe you’re Terence and he’s Markus.” he said point at both of them in the wrong order. "No he’s Terence…I’m Markus.” Markus said getting the guy straight.
"Oh pardon me, I couldn't really pay attention that much.” Grant said. "Had to make sure I didn’t fail the exam test.” Grant stood at about 5’7”, was a Caucasian but could have had another race mixed in him. His attire consisted of a white t-shirt with black rugged jeans and white Nikes. He stood before the group standing strong, looking at the two he just spoke off. "You saw us fight?” Terence asked. Grant shook his head. "Not exactly. When I had time to breath I saw your fights. Awesome fight with Rin by the way.” He said to Terence. "I haven’t seen anyone get her attention like that since middle school when there was some other guy she kept her eye on.” Grand continued. Terence looked away and began thinking. "Did you see our fight?” Hikaru asked happily. "No sorry. I wouldn’t really count that as a fight per se. More like an…annoyance.” Grant said. Hikaru pouted and Markus laughed. "Yes, you have no idea.” Markus said. "Besides watching other people fights, what were you saying about the dorms? And why were you eavesdropping in the first place.” Kallen asked. "It was an accident actually” Grant said raising an eyebrow. "And the dorms are like mini hotel rooms. One dorm can easily house six people. You’ll see when you get your dorm rooms.” Grant finished looking at his cell phone that went off vibrating. "I would tell you more but my room has been given to me. I’ll hopefully see you guys later, maybe then we can talk a little more during free time tomorrow.” He bowed to the group and walked off to go to his dorm.
"I got a text” Dominic said reading his phone message. "What does it say?” Terence asked him tilting his head a bit. Dominic began to read the message out loud to the group. "It says you and your friends dorm rooms are rooms 302. You can find the dorms pass the South Building and go to the male dorms to the left. The room is on the third floor, and I pulled some strings to get you all together.” Hikaru smiled, "Hawk’s a pretty cool guy. That’s awesome what he did for you all.” Kallen also smiled folding her arms together. "Yeah I got to admit. That guys got some pull around the school. I can see why he has many friends and enemies.” Kallen’s phone went off and she read the message and closed it. "Got your dorm room too?” Jarvis asked her. She nodded putting the phone in her back pocket. "Well I’m off guys. I need to see who exactly is in my room with me. See you all tomorrow, and don’t forget that sparring match Jarvis.” She walked off waving, Jarvis doing the same. "Yeah I won’t” he said with her nodding to acknowledge. "I should go check on some things myself” Lianna said. "I’ll go with you too Lia-chan!” Hikaru said quickly latching herself onto her. "What you two about to do?” Erik asked. "Well I’m going to help sort out the club rooms, getting those ready with other students who volunteered.” Hikaru gasped loudly. "Oh no work! I should have known with you.” She frowned a bit. "You agreed to go so let’s go” Lianna said grabbing Hikaru who waved at the group before they too left. "Well, guess we’ll just go to the dorm” Jarvis said. "Yeah got nothing better to do” Dominic said. The group made their way to the doors of the auditorium walking out.
They all walked south from the North Building and walked along the walkway. It began to get dark around the school and some of the lights were coming on to illuminate the walkways. The continued on down the south path eventually walking around the South Building and coming up towards another straight walkway with a fork at the end of it going to the left and right. "Ours is on the left right?” Erik asked Dominic. "Yeah, the text said turn left and it be on the third floor.” Everyone nodded and walked to the left coming up to a tall building walking pass a sign that said "Dormitories” with male in bold italics. Terence opened the door and let everyone else into the main hall of the Dorm building which was a bright gold color due to the lighting. There was a fireplace to the right of them with 3 sofas sitting near it with a coffee table in between them. To the left side of the room was a small bar, it seemed to serve light to medium drinks but nothing heavy. The group thought it wouldn’t sell anything to hamper with your school work. Markus and Jarvis walked over to the bar with Terence closing the door just as everyone got in seeing the next group of people a distance away. The two looked at the bar hours and noticed that the bar did in fact carry heavy drinks but those and the medium drinks were only available on free days. "So they open on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays.” Jarvis said. Markus nodded walking away from the bar with Jarvis. "I know exactly where I’m about to spend my free days.” Jarvis and Markus regrouped with the others and the group all went towards the elevator in the back and press the call button. "School’s pretty decent in every regard” Terence said. "Yeah, got to admit this doesn’t suck” Erik said. "There are no words to describe this school right now” Markus said. The elevator opened up and they all stepped in pressing the "3” button on the wall. The door closed and the elevator began rising. "I’m trying to think how this dorm going to look” Jarvis said. "I bet it’s going to be something tight” Dominic said. Everybody nodded and the doors to the elevator opened up after coming to a stop. They stepped out and began looking at the rooms. Their room was the 2nd room on the north wall.
"Hold up” Jarvis stopped and everybody stopped with him. "How do we get in? We don’t have a key or anything?” he asked everyone. Everyone face palmed except for Erik who examined the door. "There is a numeric keypad on it. Dominic did you read the rest of the text?” Dominic took his phone back out. "That’s all it said…oh hold up something at the end.” He scrolled down the text message and saw the code for the door. "The code 3512” Dominic said. Erik put the code on the door and it opened up. After Erik opened the door the group all stepped into the room and looked around. The room was filled with white carpet, and from the door the kitchen and living area was visible. Pass the kitchen was a small hallway with two bedrooms on the left wall and one on the right. They walked into the hallway and peered into the bedrooms. There were one big bed and a pullout bed in each one of them. Along with two dressers and a ceiling lamp complete with a fan. The room on the right appeared to be the master bedroom since there was a bathroom inside of it with a door that could be shut. The other bathroom was down the hall beside the second bedroom. The last room in the hall is a laundry room with a washer and dryer. "Damn” Jarvis said. "This ain’t no Dorm room, this is a apartment.” "This is our dorm, this is what’s up” Markus said. "Aight check this out, we’re all about to play rock paper scissors to get rooms.” Erik said. Everyone nodded walking back into the living room and gathering around a circle.
"How we doing this?” Dominic asked. Erik looked at him, "First two out get the bottom left bedroom. The next two get the room closest to the laundry room and second bathroom. The last one get the master bedroom.” Everyone nodded and got ready to play the first round. "Who playing who?” Jarvis said. "I’ll play Edi” Markus said looking at Dominic. "If we do someone sits out” Terence said. "Okay check this out, who don’t really care about the master bedroom.” For a minute no one but Terence raised his hand. "I don’t need it really, long as I can lay down somewhere.” He said. "You fine with taking the first room?” Erik asked and Terence nodded. "You sure?” Markus asked. "You get your own bathroom man” Markus added on to get his attention. Terence still shook his head. "You guys go for it.” he said. "Well to balance this out we should give him the bed in the first room then. The one with the most losses get the pullout then.” Jarvis said. Everyone agreed believing they’ll win. Jarvis went against Erik and Markus went against Dominic. The first round ended with Jarvis winning and Erik losing and Dominic losing to Markus. Markus then went against Jarvis and Erik against Dominic. The next round ended with Erik beating Dominic and Markus beating Jarvis. "Damn it” Jarvis said pointing to Markus. "Yes! The master bedroom mine, no one better not go up in MY bathroom without MY permission” Markus said gloating. "You got me staying with this douche bag” Jarvis said. Erik grinned devilishly while nodding. "I got to stay with Terence” Dominic said while Terence sighed.
