Episode 18: Past Memories Of A Promise

Episode 18

TJ knocked on the door gently before sitting back on the railing around Lianna’s porch. Lianna opened the door smiling at TJ gently. "Lianna…you wanted me to come by today?” Lianna nodded and leaned on the door a little bit. "Yes. I just wanted to talk to you about some things.” TJ tilted his head to the side a bit keeping his eyes on her. "Some things?” She nodded again, "You know, our past.” TJ looked into the house and looked back at Lianna, "And what about Zen?” Lianna looked to the side, "It’s okay. I don’t think he can really fill what was burning in my heart. I…however, decided to give him a chance though. It’s…still not working out.” TJ raised an eyebrow. "But everything seemed so well with you two.” Lianna continued to stare down. "Yes. From what you usually see. It’s like an on screen persona. Everything afterwards though…it can get…pretty bad.” She averted her gaze from the floor and towards him. "I preferred it if we talked out back. It got a little bad before you came as well. And well…the stars are beautiful tonight aren’t they?” TJ blushed and nodded. "I’ll see you out back then.” Lianna’s face brightened up right before she closed the door to go meet TJ back in her backyard. TJ walked down the steps slowly thinking to himself while walking towards her backyard. "Is it really bad between the two of them…they should probably break up then. And if she does go through with breaking up with him, then perhaps she and I could…is that wrong.? I mean we did like each other when we were younger. And it feels like those feelings hadn’t died down one bit.”. TJ got to her back yard and saw her sitting on a brick wall looking up at the stars with a silk dress on. TJ began to slowly remember that dress from his past. The more he thought about it the more it seemed like it was similar to the dress she wore the last time they saw one another.

He walked up too where she was and sat down beside her on the wall. She continued to look into the stars while speaking to TJ. "Do you…remember how we used to do this when we were children. I’d attempt to meet you out on the castles outer walls to sit with and watch the stars with you.” She looked at him and smiled. "Yeah. We’d sometimes succeed, we’d sometimes fail.” Lianna started laughing. "Sometimes? We’d mostly fail. There would always be something we didn’t expect.” TJ started laughing as well. "I didn’t want to admit to mostly failing. But yeah it was, and to think it’d usually be that random guard who was always confused about his patrols” Lianna looked down, "And whenever we got caught I’d end up locked in my room with guards outside.” TJ looked up at the stars. "And I’d get sent right back down into the rooms that seemed like cells. I never really understand why I was there in the first place.” Lianna looked at him. "It was a trust thing. And the rooms you were in, were for that very reason. They were designed like cells for those our family didn’t trust and when information was found out about them, it prevented them from escaping.” TJ looked at Lianna. "Ah I see now. He didn’t trust me.” "At first he didn’t” Lianna said. "As he began to get information about you things began to get gradually better. When he found out about who you really were, things really changed.” Lianna started to kick her feet back and forth. "What do you mean really change? Was there anything I didn’t know about? You know…besides being treated better.” TJ asked. "Yeah some small stuff though. Aside from moving you to the knights quarters and making you an honorary Zeltennian Knight, he really wanted to see you as his son you know. Considering how close our family was to that of yours and your kingdom. My father regretted not being able to go to the final battle area with your father years ago. He said he would have died alongside your father.”

"It’s alright.” TJ said. "Your father treated me like I was his son and for awhile…even  before he started treating me better, I saw him the same way.” Lianna stopped kicking her feet and looked at him. "Of course, he would never replace my real father but…I could with in the realm of possibility, see him as my father.” "Really?” Lianna said. TJ nodded. "This is probably why Zen is so angry at me though. Since he had gotten replaced. Right?” Lianna shook her head. "Zen reasoning for being mad at you is actually jealousy. Before you came, he had…feelings for me. But I never returned them. I didn’t like him like that. Now it’s slightly different…I think he’s cute…but still not for me. Part of that reason was him trying to defeat me as a child to prove he could protect me. In our duels, I’d always win. I’m not sure if he was letting me or not but either way I didn’t like it.” Lianna started to kick her feet again. "That’s when you came. Back then him letting me win or not really got to my head. And I figured no one would be able to beat me! I challenged you when I saw that sword on your back and you defeated me quite easily. It opened my eyes. Made me realize just how strong…I really was.” Lianna sighed while TJ looked at her. "I didn’t beat you that easily…it was still pretty tough. It may look like I had a easy time.” Lianna placed her finger on his mouth and smiled at him. "You don’t have to try to make me feel better. I’ve been accepted it was an easy when for you. You’ve apparently had more fighting training then I did.” She removed her finger from his mouth. "Ever since then I had become interested in you and your abilities. And I wanted to become your equal. During the time you were at Zeltennia Castle and after your departure, I trained rigorously. Hoping to someday impress you with my new abilities. But…I’m still light-years behind you. No where near close.”

TJ placed a hand on her shoulder. "You’re stronger than you know Lianna. Even back then I saw it. There’s something you hadn’t realized that you have over me that I just cannot do. And that’s magic.” Lianna looked at him. "It’s not polished though…” TJ smiled at her. "Even so, that is your strength. You were gifted with the ability to use magic. Something your father was even impressed with.” "I know he was but it would never be any better than what your sister or mother was doing. Even your brothers magic is far more potent than mine.” Lianna said. "Listen, you should learn from Yuriko or Marianna. Both of them are skilled magic users and I promise you that you’ll be just as strong as me one day…if not stronger.” The two stared at each other strongly, not averting there gaze at all. "Promise huh…” Lianna said. "It’s not the first time you promised me something.” TJ looked down. "I know, and I do intend to keep my promise to you Lianna. I never meant to leave, but Phaeton was calling to me.” Lianna nodded. "I believe you. I saw it in your eyes. But…I wish I could have gone with you, so I can stay beside you.”
TJ turned his gaze back to her. "Lianna…?” "I want to know, do you remember it?” Lianna asked. "The promise?” TJ answered. Lianna nodded to him gently. "Yeah. I promised that one day, we’d be together. That I’d take you out of the castle and we’d live together as a couple.” Lianna blushed gently. "You missed a tiny detail. We were…speaking about…marriage then…” Lianna blush turned more furious with TJ joining her in blushing. "Yeah…I do remember that now.” They remained quiet for a bit before looking back into each others eyes.

"Would you?” TJ asked breaking the silence. "M-marry you?” Lianna asked. TJ nodded hesitantly. "I…don’t know…what about Zen? He already distrusts you still for being close to me when we wasn’t when we were young. This would make him even more mad at you.” TJ sighed. "On the other hand…I never made a promise to him like I did with you and it’s getting a bit hard to be with him.” Lianna looked down. "Can we…go back to your apartment?” TJ blushed extremely hard. "W-what?” Lianna blushed hard as well. "I-is it too much to ask? I’m sorry…I-I just…” TJ cut her off with a kiss upon her lips. Lianna blushed a bit harder in the kiss and moved herself closer to him. TJ wrapped his arms around her and deepened the kiss not wanting to let Lianna go. They broke the kiss and looked at each other. "Well…we could…” Lianna blushed a little hard. "Here? Why don’t we just go into the shed…” Lianna said. "We could…if you want too.” Lianna kissed him again and took his hand leading him into the shed. She opened the door for both of them to find the shed slightly full. "B-back to my place?” TJ asked. Lianna nodded gently and the two began to walk towards TJ’s house hand in hand together.

TJ unlocked the door to his apartment and Lianna stopped him before he opened it up. "I-is Yuriko here?” TJ shook his head. Yuriko is staying over Hikaru’s house. She’s helping Hikaru watch over Matt.” Lianna looked a bit surprised. "He’s okay!” TJ nodded and smiled opening the door and letting her in. He close the door behind him and took her towards his room cutting on the lights and sitting down on his bed. Lianna looked around his room and laughed. "It’s so many wires going everywhere.” TJ looked at Lianna. "Sorry about it, I hope it’s not a…” TJ was cut off by Lianna who walked over to him and kissed him. "It’s not a big deal TJ…I’m used to everything about you.” TJ blushed holding her in his arms. "Are you sure you want to go that far…” Lianna nodded. "I thought I pretty much confirmed your earlier question.” TJ eyes widened. "You will then?” Lianna nodded again. "We can let everyone know tomorrow okay?” TJ nodded. "Do you have a date in mind?” Lianna gently pushed TJ on his back and laid on top of him. "I wouldn’t worry about that now…we have time to think about that. Right now…let’s make good on our promise…” TJ nodded as Lianna leaned down and began to kiss him gently. "Lianna…” The two stopped kissing and she looked at him. "Yes…?” He blushed. "I love you.” Lianna blushed gently. "I love you too TJ. So let’s make this night…the beginning of us keeping our promise…” She leaned back down on him while TJ clapped the lights out.
