Episode 6: Bad Memories

Episode 6

"What…are you doing back here…cousin?” Erik said sarcastically. Erik’s cousin leapt down from the building and met him in the center of the village. His long black hair was soaked from the constant rain of the area and he appeared to be wearing a combat vest with jeans and boots. He beat his chest twice making his armor make a "clink” noise each time he did it. "I thought I’d drop by while I was in the area and check up on you, cause you know you’re…always pissed and all.” Erik gripped his hammer and hooked it on his back again turning away from his cousin. "Leave this place…we settled our score years ago. There’s nothing left for you here Jarvis.” Jarvis smirked and chuckled a bit. "Don’t you want to at least go back to Fuji?” Erik stopped walking and turned around facing Jarvis. "I sealed that area up? How did-” Jarvis rose his fist to Erik. "Your eye gives you Geomancy right? Mines called Assassin, any part of my body when I strike an object cuts like a sword or blade.” Erik sighed and thought about going to that area again. That area was the more sacred side of the village, and it shouldn’t be defaced or loitered in. His father used to always tell him cryptic things like that. He never really paid any attention to it until later when everything began to get bad. The two walked through the center of the village path that lead to Fuji in the back of the village, passing by dilapidated pathways and buildings. When they stopped, they stood right in front of Fuji, with the rock seal Erik placed cut right down the center in a vertical way. The cut was too smooth to be from any blade and so Jarvis’ assassin sigil eye seemed more evident than ever. "So you figured out how to use it to your best abilities now?” Jarvis laughed a bit. "Hell yeah, and the older and more use to it I get, the stronger the things I can cut without fail.” Erik walked in pushing Jarvis aside slowly looking around the area. It was just as it was left years ago before the fall of Dnaleri. The temples were still in place, the walkway looked nothing like the village itself, and all of the graves and sacred areas kept intact. "Almost like our bout never happened huh?” Jarvis said walking up beside Erik. "How can this be? When we fought we held nothing back. Even the village itself showed the battle scares from all the fights that took place in this area…these lands.” Jarvis motioned his hands to Erik telling him to follow him as they walked to the graves of Fuji. Erik followed him walking past a huge temple where he and his father used to go to train along with his brothers. It was one of the fonder memories Erik had of his family, mainly his brothers. Jarvis thrusts his hands into the fence which held the graves of the highest members of the village and cut it open with a clear swipe. As they entered they saw the same statue of Erik’s father again that was in the center of the village. Erik walked up to the grave and read the inscription on it. "Here lies the strongest man of these lands, may his soul nourish continue to help Dnaleri and it’s sacred lands prosper.”

Jarvis folded his arms looking at Erik. "You know there is something you should probably know about cousin. Haven’t you wondered why exactly no one knew what specifically happened to your father?” Erik looked at Jarvis angrily. "What the hell are you talking about? He died in the first Chosen War. When they fought the demon world leader Eve and slain her, his wounds were grievous and he died from them.” Jarvis shook his head. "Is that what they told you before you had to go about the task of vengeance? I’ll let you know what really went down.” Jarvis leaned on the grave statue and looked up at it. "Dnaleri was pretty close to the Kingdom of Dreams right? They were supporting us and keeping us prosperous and helped us flourish. In addition we farmed crops for them and made various weapons and items. Basically we were pretty tight.” Erik looked at Jarvis confused. "So…what about that?” Jarvis looked at him seriously. "Well, during when that war broke out and your father was fighting in it. He found out something he wasn’t supposed to and thus, he and the very village was being threatened. It wasn’t as if he could just fight them off, had he did no one would have believed him and we’d have the Dreams Knights breathing down our necks then. So instead of trying to speak the truth he, doing the last battle with Eve left, not wanting to dishonor his closest friend.” Erik began to think about it now. The same time his father Malkuz left, was the same time Granas was announced KIA and the Kingdom itself fell shortly afterwards which in turn also caused the downfall of Dnaleri. "Wait a minute. If what you’re saying is true then father is still alive somewhere?”. Jarvis nodded. "Should be. Not sure where he is though. Guess that’s something for you to figure out eh?” Jarvis swept his hand through the statue of his Malkuz cutting in clean in half revealing a sparkling ruby colored gem inside of it. "But I got what I came for.” Erik looked at him with a terrifying glare. "What is that? What did you do? What the hell did you come back for?” Jarvis held the gem in one hand while waving his finger to Erik. "Preparation cousin. I got some things to get ready for. Things you should be getting ready for too.” Erik stood up straight now still glaring at his cousin. "What…things? What aren’t you telling me?”. Jarvis walked pass Erik ignoring him. "Fuji has secrets cousin. That’s all I can offer to you. And as for the danger that’s coming…if you don’t know now you’re up shit creek.” Jarvis began to walk out of the fence but the area sealed completely up trapping him inside what appears to be a dome made of pure granite mixed with some diamond underneath Fuji. Jarvis shook his head at the dome. "Cousin, I’ll just swipe through this you know.” He rose his hand to cut through but the wall projected a spiked projectile at him causing Jarvis to swipe through that instead. The diamond spike split in half but took some noticeable effort for Jarvis who was holding his right hand. "What the hell…” he said in pain angrily. "Erik!?” He turned around facing his cousin who was glowing black and purple. His eye had begun glowing white with the sigil mark of his powers painted in dark black and his body began to be painted with symbols that was glowing bright red. "What happened to you…” Jarvis asked himself confused. The dome began to get darker and the only thing Jarvis saw was Erik glowing demonically. A loud rumbling noise can be heard coming up from under Jarvis. He looked down noticing the ground was cracking a bit and something red can be seen slightly. "Tch so it’s a fight you want cousin…” Jarvis dashed at Erik with inhuman speed leaving behind a after image and avoiding the explosion where he once stood which erupted lava coming from it. Jarvis stopped just a foot from Erik and launched a roundhouse kick that literally cut the air and distorted the area in which it faced tossing what seemed like invisible knives through the air. The hit landed clearly as Erik began to have small and large lacerations cut his body but there were no visible sign of injury as he stood as if nothing had hit him and there was no blood loss. Jarvis gritted his teeth and recovered from the kick moving into to strike the death blow which was a palm strike towards the heart. He smiled evilly  as Erik showed no signs of resisting and when it came time for the hit he was stopped, grabbed by what appeared to be ivy vines. "God damn it where is all this…” Jarvis turned his head behind him noticing the lava he evaded earlier was still coming towards him. He faced Erik again and a loud smack sounded off from Erik hitting Jarvis with his hammer with one hand and snapping the vine with the hit. He grabbed Jarvis before he went airborne and slammed him into the ground and began flooding the dome with water to drown him in in the crater he made from the slam. Jarvis opened his eyes and looked up noticing the area distorting and realizing he was underwater at this point. He looked around and saw Erik’s chest wide open and lunged his hand through in a desperation to end this before he died. His hand was stopped short of another ivy vine that came out of seemingly nowhere. He clenched his teeth and cut the vine with his free hand and then kneed Erik in the back distracting him enough for Jarvis to lean up and head butt Erik in the face pushing him off of him. Jarvis then kick flipped up and began landing knife hand after knife hand of slashes into Erik’s body before landing a powerful palm thrust to Erik’s chest and sending him flying backwards knocking them out of the dome and Erik out of his trance. Erik landed on his back and skid across the ground in front of the grave temple house. Jarvis jumped into the air with the intent on landing another powerful blow to Erik who had awakened in time to see Jarvis in the air coming down towards him. Erik looked around and fixed his gaze on one of the grave stones. Using his eye he lifted the stone into the air and hurled it at Jarvis who spun in the air dodging it. However, when he landed, he was caught by the throat by Erik, holding him in a powerful hold. Erik smiled evilly and held his hammer so that the top blunt in was facing Jarvis. He slammed the hammer into Jarvis’s face knocking him through a few grave stones, through the fence, and into the stone wall. Erik then again used his eye to bind Jarvis to that wall using the ground and trapping him with Ivy. "There is one thing I’ll thank you for…” Erik said lowering his shoulder. "And that’s for reminding me all the things I have to pay you back for…!” Erik charged at Jarvis and collided with him running him through the wall all the way through the other end and stopping sending him tumbling to the ground gasping for air. Erik then slowly walked over to him and rose his hammer up getting ready to come down on him with it. Thinking fast, Jarvis threw dirt in Erik’s eyes blinding him temporarily and slashing his hand through a nearby water tower which collapsed on Erik just as he was recovering from the dirt in the eyes. He then waited slightly close by the tower rubble pile waiting for Erik to break out with his palm cocked back. As soon as Erik surfaced head first from the rubble pile Jarvis cracked him in the face with his palm sending Erik back to Fuji through the wall hole they made when they crashed through. "You still haven’t learned heh…” Jarvis said laughing a bit. He was however, shocked when he saw the ivy traveling from him again which he cut and leapt to safety on top of a few houses and went towards the front gate. Erik came from Fuji breathing hard and slightly bloody from being slashed by Jarvis’s ability. Jarvis laughed tossing up the gem. "You’re at your limit Erik. Too bad too, I was having fun.” Erik held his sigil eye with one hand and noticed Jarvis was shaking a bit. "Looks like you’re out of it too…” Jarvis stopped smiling and made the cut throat motion towards Erik. "I’m sure you and I will be meeting again, after all, we have the same goal in mind.” Jarvis turned around and leapt off into the mountains near Dnaleri. "Same goal…what the hell is he talking about…” Erik began limping off into his house to recover a bit before reporting to TJ and the others about the area.

"What are you doing here?” Matt raised an eyebrow standing in the middle of the training area of his clans dynasty. "The same reason you are here!” A girl replied to him. Her hair was a deep orange and she wore a traditional Chinese dress. The leg on the left side however were slightly exposed. "You can’t keep doing this to me Matthew! You promised me!” She pointed to him holding a small cylindrical object in her hand. "I know I know…just…I still haven’t gotten done what I said I was going to do Ralidda.” Ralidda sighed, she was seek of Matt’s lack of pushing himself. "Ever since you’ve lost to that man, you haven’t been the same since. You’ve been training and that it. When are you going to make some progress on finding this guy!”. Matt began to get angry. "It’s not that easy damn it!” He sighed calming himself down. "I don’t remember anything about that man, only his full plate of armor was black and spiked. You know how many people in the world wear that?” Ralidda folded her arms and turned to the side and with an unimpressed look on her face. "It’s not only me you have to explain this too.” Matt looked on with a confuse look on his face. "You have a friend that came visiting today. He says it’s urgent.” Matt nodded, "Well…whose the friend?” Ralidda turned to him with her arms still folded. "It’s your childhood friend, Nick.”
