The
night sky lit up like a Christmas tree on the big day as helicopters
flew throughout the sky, whirling around a single building in the
business district of Ruthann City, capitol city of the world of
Azure. The building was surrounded, spotlights blazed on it from the
ground and the sky. There was enough commotion to warrant the
attention of the entire world. And sure enough, that was what was
happening. On the street level, behind the armada of heavy
reconnaissance vehicles and platoon were civilians. All gossiping
about what was unfolding before them. The business district is
usually asleep during this hour of midnight, but today was different.
There are a few pedestrians asking what is going on but the security
force and heavy armed forces are assuring them everything is under
control. It's true the city and the world are usually no stranger to
terrible things happening. That is what the Chosen TJ and his allies
are for. To protect their world from the really dangerous threats.
However, TJ wasn't even there. Neither were his two usual friends.
Something was wrong, and panic began to spread throughout the
district and the city.
"Get
this reporters out of here! Do it now!” "Yes sir!” Amongst the
chaos within the platoon line around the building stood a single
young man. A government agent working for Ruthann City. He stood by
watching his men scramble around to move the reporters from the
vicinity, trying to stop any and all attempts to ask him and others
questions. The chill wind blew through the air cutting a little to
the bone despite his long black trench coat. Running his hands though
his spiky brown hair, he sighed. "What mess did we get ourselves
into this time...and where the hell are you TJ..” His green eyes
gazed upon the municipal building before him. "Just what the hell
is going on in there...?!” He continued to mutter to himself. "Umm
sir?” He snapped out of his funk hearing the voice of a soldier
behind him. "Yeah? What is it?” He shook himself straight giving
the man his full attention. "We can't get a hold of the chosen.
We're not sure where he is. Chief is giving you full leadership on
this task Zen. He says it isn't to be taken lightly.” Zen sighed
again. It would make sense that the best man in the force would be
task with handling this mission. Zen had cleared just as many
dangerous tasks as the chosen himself. He even helped with third
Chosen war and lived to speak of it. "Well if the Chosen isn't
going to show up...get me the next best thing. "Uhh...the next best
thing sir?” Zen couldn't believe he was about to say this, but the
time is desperate. "Get on the phone. Call these numbers.” He
reached into his trench pocket and pulled out a datacube and handing
it to the soldier. "Call these three comlinks and tell them to meet
me here as soon as possible. It seems the fate of this world might be
relying on us.” The soldier took the cube and nodded quickly. "Sir
yes sir!” Zen watched him run off to go make the calls at a nearby
armored vehicle before turning his head back to the building. "It's
going to get rough...isn't it.”
The
top floor of the municipal building was dimly lit. Only portions of
machinery were providing light to the largely octagonal room
alongside a single dim light in the center. The computers in the room
hummed silently and were spread out alongside the walls of the room
aside from the northern most wall. Here stood a arch. A gateway, made
of steel and circuitry. It was seemingly connected to the another
machine near the center of the room. Two men were inside of it. One
standing and one sitting down. The man standing up wore a cloak over
his body as he stood at the window watching the activity below
unfold. He flashes white occasionally with the window as the
spotlights from the choppers illuminate him. The other was an older
scientist. Complete with the lab jacket, white gloves and glasses. He
was hard at work tinkering with the machine that was connected to the
gateway arch. "It appears they have caught wind of our goals.”
The man standing up calmly spoke. His face was obscured by a phantom
mask. Only his long wavy golden hair was visible. "Even in absence,
the boy is a pest.” He placed his gloved hand on his chin and began
to stroke it. "May-hap you underestimate the chosen sire.” The
scientist spoke back without even looking up. "Or may-hap he placed
much more faith in his friends.” "Where is he anyway? Is he still
out playing with your little friend?” The sound of sparks echoed
throughout the room. "It is possible. I've sent a doll. Not an easy
one mind you. One I ended up creating in my...experiments.” "Doll?
Is that what you are calling your puppets now Aroch?”. Aroch turned
to him, his cloak swaying a bit. "Do you not like that name?” The
scientist simply shook his head. "I care not what you call it. All
it is to me is some poor fools soul trapped inside of a mannikin.”
Aroch smirked at the remark while he began to slowly walk over to
him. "Why not activate the rest of the machines? After all this is
why I made them.” The scientist said leering over at Aroch as he
approached. "No. The other two are far too young to have activate
early. Santanas is all we need. To ensure success I need at least two
operational.” "Yes Yes. For your...ascension correct?” Aroch
turned to the gate. "Yes. We will merge all universes with the
power within the Fountain of Dreams.” The scientist chuckled. "I'll
have your gate operational within an hour. I am merely finishing up
coordinates and power check.” Aroch continued his smirk. "Good,
then I shall have our security drones take care of the pests
outside.”
